Prince Harry, Meghan Markle Won’t Make Prince William Godfather Of Their Baby

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle would soon decide which of their friends and relatives will become godparents of their firstborn.

Josie Griffiths, a journalist for The Sun, said that it is unlikely for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex to ask Prince William to be on of their baby’s godparents. This move doesn’t mean that Prince Harry is snubbing his older brother for the important role. Rather, it has been a common practice among royals to make their friends godparents over their family members.

When Prince William welcomed his first son, Prince George, royal fans thought that he will break the mold and make Prince Harry his godfather. However, Prince William and Kate Middleton decided to stick to tradition. The royal couple didn’t also ask Prince Harry to be the godfather of Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.

Prince Harry and Markle are expected to follow in Prince William’s footsteps, but the couple will still have plenty of people to choose from. Topping the list is Markle’s best friend, Jessica Mulroney, her other good friend, Misha Nonoo, TV producer Lindsay Jill Roth, Benita Litt, Serena Williams, Priyanka Chopra, and more. All of these women were invited to Prince Harry and Markle’s royal wedding on Oct. 19.

Some of the possible godfathers that Prince Harry and Markle’s baby will have to include the Duke’s good friend, Jake Warren and Prince Harry’s best friend, Tom Inskip. However, there have been reports claiming that Prince Harry already cut ties with Inskip.

“Like several others who were considered a questionable influence on Harry during his bad old bachelor days, Tom has been dropped, even though he himself now has a lovely wife, Lara,” a source said.

Adam Helliker, a journalist for Express, revealed that Prince Harry and Inskip’s friendship has a long history, but it’s not necessarily a positive one. Inskip was accused of badly influencing Prince Harry when they were much younger.
