  • Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's relationship with the royal family is at a very low ebb
  • The Duke and Duchess of Sussex publicly dissed Queen Elizabeth
  • Queen Elizabeth will closely monitor Prince Harry and Meghan Markle after Megxit

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s relationship with the royal family is reportedly at a very low ebb after they released a statement where they seemingly attacked Queen Elizabeth.

Last week, the royal couple claimed that they had no intention to use the Sussex Royal brand after Her Majesty banned them from using it after they officially drop their royal titles and roles.

While speaking with Express, royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams said that the Queen must have felt really sad following the royal couple’s very public criticism of her ban.

“I think that relations between the Sussexes and the rest of the royal family are at a very low ebb, especially since Harry and Meghan’s public criticism of their agreement with the Queen on their website and Harry’s subsequent speeches. The security issue has raised its head and whereas they will undoubtedly get it, precisely who will pay and how and what level it will be at remain pivotal questions,” he said.

Fitzwilliams also claimed that the Queen will continue to monitor Prince Harry and Markle even though they are no longer considered as working royals.

“The Queen reasserted her authority at the Sandringham Summit and will be monitoring events over the next year after which the arrangement with the Sussexes will be reassessed. She is certainly sad at developments; she made that clear in her deeply personal statement,” he said.

Meanwhile, Fitzwilliams is confident that the Queen would soon brush off Megxit and the monarchy will reinvent itself after a series of blows in the past couple of weeks. After all, the monarch is known for her resilience, and she’s used to facing all sorts of crises.

Prince Harry and Markle are expected to reunite with the Queen and the other members of the royal family this month when they attend their final engagements in the United Kingdom. The Sussexes will also be crossing paths with Prince William and Kate Middleton for the first time since Megxit.
