Prince Harry feels very safe, happy and at home whenever he’s in South Africa. In fact, several years ago, the new dad made a shocking prediction.

Shortly after Princess Diana passed away on Aug. 31, 1997, the Duke of Sussex traveled to South Africa to get away from it all. The trip left such a huge impact on Meghan Markle’s husband that he said he wants to work and live in the continent one day.

“I’d probably live in Africa. I’d like to spend all my time out there... As a job, it would probably be a safari guide,” Prince Harry previously said.

Unfortunately, the royal’s ultimate dream job has not yet come true. After all, he is an important member of the royal family, and he seemingly needs to be in the United Kingdom to be close to Queen Elizabeth II.

But this isn’t the first time that Prince Harry hinted about wanting to leave the United Kingdom for good. Earlier this month, rumors swirled that the Duke of Sussex is thinking about relocating to the United States with his family.

“In the 1980s, it was decided baby Harry would one day have a family and want to build an estate. Perhaps back then they were expecting Harry would marry a Sloaney nursery teacher who would love nothing more than running an estate… Fast forward to 2019, and that dream seems deeply old-fashioned, not to mention unrealistic,” a source told Daily Mail.

Prince Harry and Markle were also criticized by the media, royal experts, and the public throughout the entire summer. As such, the royals wanted to have a change of scenery by moving as far away from the United Kingdom as possible.

Markle is also an American citizen, which means that she wouldn’t need to adjust to being back home. Prince Harry is also well-traveled, which means that he will instantly feel at home in Los Angeles.
