Prince Harry, Prince Charles Almost Had A ‘Royal Feud’ For This Reason
Prince Charles managed to avert an awkward feud with Prince Harry last year over a radio show deal from BBC.
Tom Nellist, a journalist for Express, revealed that the network asked Prince Harry and Prince Charles to host the same show, and they agreed. But the dad-and-son tandem, later on, found out that the network asked Prince Harry first. However, it seemed as though he wasn’t interested.
After discussing the hosting gig together, Prince Charles decided to give way to Prince Harry to take the limelight. Prince Charles appeared on the radio show as a guest interviewee and not as a host. And during his interview on the program, he even called Prince Harry his “darling boy.”
“There’s a whole lot of things I’ve tried to focus on over all these years that I felt needed attention. Not everybody else did, but maybe now, some years later, they’re beginning to realize that what I was trying to say may not have been all that dotty as they thought,” Prince Charles said.
He added that he’s so proud of Prince Harry because he needed so much of his wisdom and advice on the matter.
In related news, there have been rumors suggesting Prince Charles and Prince Harry do not get along well with each other. A tabloid claimed that they have very different personalities and have always had a hard time agreeing on things.
But during a garden party for Prince Charles, the Duke of Sussex spoke highly of his father.
“His enthusiasm and energy are truly infectious; it has certainly inspired William and me to get involved in issues we care passionately about and to do whatever we can to make a difference. In fact, many of the issue William and I now work on are subjects we were introduced to by our young father growing up. His passion and dedication are remarkable…” he said (via Harper's Bazaar).
