Prince Harry Remembers Princess Diana In Bristol During These 2 Touching Moments
Prince Harry remembered Princess Diana during his recent trip to Bristol with Meghan Markle on Friday.
While at Bristol’s Empire Fighting Chance charity, the Duke of Sussex saw a 12-year-old boy who got emotional after talking about his father’s death seven years ago. Prince Harry politely asked everyone to leave the room so that he could speak to the young boy privately.
Prince Harry lost his mom, Princess Diana when he was just 12 years old on Aug. 31, 1997. He told Iestyn Jones that losing a parent is something that he also experienced years ago.
“It just got a bit emotional because he mentioned something. He knew some stuff about me and the same thing happened to him,” Jones told People.
The 12-year-old boy also said that he had a chat with Meghan Markle’s husband for about 10 minutes. They also posed for a group photo, and he made sure to stand beside the Duke of Sussex.
Meanwhile, Prince Harry also went on a trip down memory lane after a royal fan showed him a throwback photo of Princess Diana during the latter’s visit 25 years ago. The fan told Prince Harry that his mom visited Bristol years ago, and she didn’t want to let go of the flowers that were given to her.
“I love that. I recognize everybody in that photo,” Prince Harry replied.
The royal fan told Prince Harry that he will have the photo reprinted and he will send it to the Duke via mail. Prince Harry asked him where the photo was taken, and the royal fan said that it was in Thornbury, Bristol in 1994.
In related news, Prince Harry was not the only one that remembered Princess Diana while in Bristol. Markle also reminded royal fans of the late Princess of Wales when she braved the cold just to greet some of the people that waited for her outdoors.
Eleri Lynn, the curator of an exhibit on Princess Diana’s style, told People that Markle braved the cold weather and didn’t wear gloves because she liked to shake the hands of royal fans just like Princess Diana.
