Prince Harry Reportedly ‘Froze Out’ Ex-Girlfriend Chelsy Davy Before Marrying Meghan Markle
Prince Harry reportedly froze out his ex-girlfriend, Chelsy Davy, right before his wedding to Meghan Markle.
Adam Helliker, a journalist for Express, claimed that Prince Harry phoned Davy just before he tied the knot with Markle on May 19. Their conversation was centered on two things. First, Prince Harry informed his ex-girlfriend that she will be given an invitation to his nuptials. Second, the Duke of Sussex told her that they could no longer communicate.
Following their breakup years ago, Prince Harry and Davy maintained an amicable relationship with each other. However, the 33-year-old prince decided that being friends with Davy was no longer necessary.
“This edict from Harry that their friendship was, effectively, at an end, came as a shock to her, as there had been no awkwardness between them at all until then. But Harry told her that was the way it was to be in the future. It’s just wasn’t Harry’s usual way of dealing with his friends. Chelsy was upset by that call and got the impression he had been put up to it by Meghan,” a source close to Davy told Helliker.
The journalist noted that this could be the reason why Davy didn’t look very happy at Prince Harry and Markle’s royal wedding at St. George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle. Even though the 32-year-old arrived at the venue with a huge smile on her face, she was captured by the camera looking angry during the ceremony.
Helliker also noted the fact that Prince Harry didn’t invite Davy to his wedding reception at the Frogmore House, which was hosted by Prince Charles. Only Prince Harry and Markle’s closest family and friends were there to celebrate the occasion with them.
On the night of the royal couple’s wedding, Davy decided to attend another party in London with her group of pals.
According to the journalist, Prince Harry, Markle, and Davy will once again see each other in October at Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank’s nuptials.
