Prince Harry has already reunited with one member of the royal family ahead of Prince Philip's funeral: his cousin, Princess Eugenie.
The Duke of Sussex has seen his first cousin as they are both staying in Frogmore Cottage after he returned to the U.K. for their grandfather's funeral, Page Six reported. Prince Harry is currently quarantining at the Windsor, England property in accordance with the country's pandemic guidelines.
Prince Harry also finally met baby August Philip Hawke Brooksbank, whom Princess Eugenie and her husband, Jack Brooksbank, welcomed in February. The baby's middle name was a nod to the late Duke of Edinburgh.
Following the Sussexes' move to California, Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle offered their U.K. home to Princess Eugenie last year when they learned that she was expecting her first baby. The property that lies on the grounds of Queen Elizabeth II’s Windsor estate is spacious enough for a growing family, Page Six noted.
"It’s fully equipped for a new family and new baby. It’s still Meghan and Harry’s UK residence, they’ll still stay there when they go back, but they’re delighted to be able to open up their home to Princess Eugenie and Jack as they start their own family," an unnamed source told the outlet at the time.
The Sussexes' decision to lend the property to Princess Eugenie raised some eyebrows, with some reports claiming that the Queen was not aware of Prince Harry and Markle's decision.
However, Buckingham Palace ended the speculations by saying in a statement that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex had the freedom to make decisions regarding their private residence.
"Frogmore Cottage is the private residence of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex and as such any arrangements are a matter for them," a Buckingham Palace spokesperson said in November 2020.
It's not yet known if Prince Harry will also get to meet his cousin Zara Tindall's newborn son, Lucas, who was born last month.
There has been no confirmation on whether or not Prince Harry has already met with his father Prince Charles or brother Prince William since he arrived in the U.K. But they are all expected to see each other on Saturday at St. George's Chapel in Windsor Castle for Prince Philip's funeral.
