Prince Harry reportedly “snapped” when he realized that his wife Meghan Markle would never get a fair treatment in the U.K.
In January, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex made a bombshell announcement that they were stepping back as senior members of the royal family and immediately flew to Canada. Earlier this month, they returned to carry out their final engagements and returned to Canada before the country closed its borders due to coronavirus outbreak.
An insider told Us Weekly, that Prince Harry decided to move out of the U.K. because he felt that his wife won’t receive a fair treatment in his homeland. The source did not give a particular incident on what triggered Prince Harry to make the decision, but the royal allegedly “snapped.”
“When it became clear Meghan was never going to get a fair shake, Harry snapped,” the insider said. “He’s adamant that it was his call to move to Canada.”
Another reason that the couple moved to Canada was their son. Prince Harry wanted to give his child a normal life that was different from his upbringing.
“[Harry] wants to shield his son from the negativity and tension he would’ve been exposed to back in England,” a second insider revealed. “He knows what it’s like to grow up in the spotlight, and he wants to give Archie the most normal upbringing possible.”
Although Prince Harry, Markle are away, the Queen is already preparing for her birthday gift for their son. Archie will be turning 1 year old on May 6 and the monarch is getting him a “beautiful rocking house.”
Prince Harry and Markle’s son has reportedly plenty of things to keep him occupied. He has tons of animal books and fluffy toys at home.
Prince Harry and Markle are set to spend their summer with Queen Elizabeth II in Balmoral. However, it’s still unclear if the royal will push through with the plans if the global pandemic will persist. At present, the Sussexes observe quarantine after returning to Canada from the U.K.
