Meghan Markle and Prince Harry will be attending the Endeavour Fund Awards at Mansion House on Thursday. It will be the Sussex couple’s first official public appearance in Britain, following their shocking royal exit announcement earlier this year. Reports have it that, on Sunday, the father of Archie Harrison Mountbatten Windsor had a “heart to heart” talk with Queen Elizabeth about the Duke’s forthcoming departure from the royal family.
Woman’s Day New Zealand reported that Prince Harry displayed a grim expression when he arrived on a commercial jet earlier this week. A royal insider claimed that Meghan’s husband was aloof after a “dreaded meeting” with Queen Elizabeth. The mother of Prince Charles, allegedly, called Harry for a "one-on-one" meeting after the Sussex pair released a response to Her Majesty’s decision to not allow them to use their royal titles after ‘Megxit' last week.
“Harry was clearly nervous to be seeing the Queen after such a public display of defiance. He was physically shaking as he walked into her private sitting room and his face said it all as soon as he saw her,” the source told the entertainment news publication. “The Queen purposefully hadn’t asked Charles or anyone else to join them as she was conscious of ensuring Harry didn’t feel ganged-up on. But she told him exactly how betrayed she felt by him and how heartbroken she’s been by his behavior,” it continued.
However, Daily Mail reported that Queen Elizabeth told Prince Harry that he and Meghan Markle are still welcome to return anytime should they change their minds in the future. The Duke of Sussex, allegedly, wanted to “clear the air” between him and Her Majesty before he officially steps down as senior royal on March 31.
Queen Elizabeth and Prince Harry have yet to comment on these speculations about their alleged “one-on-one” meeting. Hence, avid followers of the royal family should take these unverified claims with a huge grain of salt until everything is proven true and correct.
Meanwhile, aside from the Endeavour Fund Awards, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are, also, gracing the official opening of the Silverstone Experience on Friday. The Sussex couple is, then, expected to attend the Mountbatten Music Festival on Saturday, an International Woman’s Day event on Sunday and the Commonwealth Service at the Royal Albert Hall on March 9.
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s split from the royal family will take effect on April 1, which means they will stop receiving public funds and relinquish their HRH titles for good. The Sussex couple, previously, shared their plans to establish their own charitable organization as they find their way to achieve financial independence.
