Prince Harry’s ‘Lifelong Regret’ Revealed; How It Involved Mom Princess Diana

Prince Harry reportedly has one major regret that he’ll be carrying all his life.

In Katie Nicholl’s 2017 biography “Harry: Life, Loss, and Love,” the royal expert shared how Prince Harry and Prince William felt about their last phone call with their mom Princess Diana. According to her, the Duke of Cambridge and the Duke of Sussex regretted the last conversation they had with the Princess of Wales. However, between the two, Prince Harry took it harder.

“For Harry, it is one of his lifelong regrets,” Nicholl wrote.

Prince William and Prince Harry had not seen their mother for a whole month during the summer of 1997. However, the trio was set to be reunited the following day. When Princess Diana called his sons, the two were in a rush to end their conversation because they wanted so badly to go back to playing with their cousins, Zara and Peter Phillips. They didn’t know it would be the last chance for them to talk to their mom.

“I can’t really remember what I said, but all I do remember is, you know, regretting for the rest of my life how that phone call was,” Prince Harry confessed.

“How differently that conversation could have panned out if I’d had even the slightest inkling her life was going to be taken that night,” he added, before admitting that looking back was still “incredibly hard” for him.

Prince William felt the same way. According to the Duke of Cambridge, that phone call sticks in his mind “quite heavily.”

Prince William and Prince Harry forged a special bond following their mother’s death. They were so close to each other that they could finish each other’s sentences. They knew what the other was thinking even before he spoke.

According to Richard Kay, Prince William and Prince Harry’s relationship grew over the years. They never grew apart even after Prince William married Kate Middleton.

However, things between the two brothers turned awry when Meghan Markle joined the picture. Prince Harry was reportedly riled when Prince William questioned him about Markle. Prince Harry felt that his older brother wanted to ruin his romance with the former actress even before it started.
