Prince Harry’s Mental Health Speech At JP Morgan Event Draws Criticism, Plagiarism Accusations
KEY POINTS
- Meghan Markle and Prince Harry attended an event for JP Morgan
- Prince Harry talked about his mental health at the event
- He and his wife are accused of plagiarizing the speech
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle just attended their first engagement since Megxit in Miami, Florida.
Sources revealed that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were present at JP Morgan’s annual event, where they met up with 400 or so investors.
While speaking with “Good Morning America,” royal commentator Omid Scobie said that it was only Prince Harry who served as a keynote speaker at the gathering. The Duke of Sussex talked about his mental health struggles following the death of Princess Diana.
However, some critics of Kate Middleton and Markle took this as an opportunity to throw shade at the duchesses. On Twitter, one royal fan accused Markle of plagiarizing her mental health speech even though she didn’t speak at the event.
“Why would anyone want to listen to Meghan’s plagiarized speech? Most of these elites don’t care or want to know what Meghan and Harry have to say. They didn’t know who Meghan was until they were invited to the wedding. That speaks volumes,” Twitter user @BlackOrchid1909 said.
Another Twitter user fired back by saying that nobody knew who Kate Middleton was either before she married Prince William.
“What’s your point? Why do you think the speech is plagiarized and it was Harry speaking not her! Focus on your favorites who have charities going under due to lack of funds,” Twitter user @ImHellaPetty2 said.
Meanwhile, more critics of Prince Harry and Markle are asking the royal couple to just go away because they are sick of them.
“Can they go away now? I’m really tired of seeing them in the headlines. People dying in the streets and we are talking about those two? Why?” Twitter user @TristaWade3 said.
“So, when will they do something useful?” Twitter user @powe73260937 said.
“Why would a company pay for Harry and Meghan to speak? They don't work for the Queen anymore and if the Queen was smart she would take the HRH titles away from them,” Twitter user @TZeliznak said.
