Prince Harry’s Rebellious Character Outshone By This Female Cousin, Royal Expert Says
Prince Harry is not the most rebellious member of the royal family.
In the 2013 Netflix documentary “The Royals,” author Philip Dampier said the Duke of Sussex’s cousin, Zara Phillips, made a scandalous act that drew a lot of attention. Dampier referenced an incident when Philips showed her pierced tongue at Prince Charles’ 50th birthday. Due to the incident, he branded Phillips as “a bit of a royal rebel.”
“When she had her tongue stud put in, I think it came on the back of some other publicity she had had prior to that where she had few punch-ups with her then-boyfriend, who was a jockey,” the writer explained.
“They got involved in a few scuffleds in the street. She was getting an image, which was either deserved or undeserved,” Dampier added.
However, it is much easier for Princess Anne’s daughter to get away with a few scandals compared to Prince Harry because she is way down the line of succession, reporter Ashley Pearson said.
Her life is not as publicized as the Duke of Sussex. This is also true for Prince William and Prince Harry’s other cousins, like Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie.
“I think it's far easier for a minor royal like Zara Phillips to act out and rebel and pierce her tongue, which she did,” Pearson explained. “Or for Beatrice or Eugenie to live with her boyfriend and maybe get drunk at a party.”
“It's much easier for them to get away with these things because there is not so much public interest in their private lives. If they do something a bit unseemly they can get away with it pretty easily.”
Prince Harry was known for his scandalous antics before he met and married Meghan Markle. In 2012, he made headlines when his nude photos from a stripped billiard game leaked.
Nevertheless, Prince Harry is already a changed man, and he will be a dad soon.
In related news, a shocking Nostradamus prophecy has claimed that Prince Harry will be the next king. However, if one considers the succession of the throne, this is unlikely.
The Duke of Sussex is currently sixth in line to the throne. Prince Charles, Prince William, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis are expected to rule before him.
