Prince Philip ‘Avoided Doctors Like The Plague’ For This Shocking Reason
Prince Philip reportedly confessed about his distrust of medical doctors during his trip to Germany several years ago.
While speaking to a German student (via Express), the Duke of Edinburgh said that if it were only to up to him, he wouldn’t see any doctors at all. This is because doctors give different opinions at all times.
During his walkabout in Berlin, Prince Philip also spotted a couple that was studying medicine at the nearby Charite University Hospital. He asked Bastian Rosner and Jan Onno Rosner if they planned on treating patients after they pass the exams.
After telling the Prince that they planned on working as doctors professionally, Prince Philip gave them his verdict on physicians. One of the two said that he thought it was hilarious because it was evident that the Duke didn’t trust doctors.
Despite his distrust of doctors and for trying to avoid them as though they are like the plague, Prince Philip did not get his way recently when he underwent hip replacement operation. His surgery was deemed successful, and he recovered just in time for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s royal wedding on May 19, 2018.
Most recently, Prince Philip went to a hospital again for a check-up after getting involved in a car accident. Last month, Queen Elizabeth II’s husband’s Land Rover collided with a Kia outside Sandringham. Prince Philip was left unscathed following the incident.
The Duke of Edinburgh is 97 years old, and he will turn 98 on June 10. He retired from royal duties in 2017. Since then, there have been talks about his health. He has not been spotted with the royal family on several important occasions and this has led royal fans to speculate that his health is no longer at its best.
But every now and then, Prince Philip still enjoys spending time outdoors by riding his horses inside Windsor. He will be seen in public less because he recently gave up his driver’s license.
