The potential future king and queen of Britain began their royal tour of Canada and the U.S. Thursday afternoon, Reuters reports. Prince William and his wife Kate Middleton, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, kicked off the nine day tour celebrating Canada Day July 1 in Ottawa.

The trip, which began in Ottawa, will include stops to Prince Edward Island, the Northwest Territories, Calgary and concludes in California, the Telegraph reports.

The royal couple is scheduled to arrive in Los Angeles July 8 and depart July 10.
