Prince William ‘Flew Into A Rage’ After Prince Harry Did This
Prince William was furious with Prince Harry’s antics during a trip to Canada.
The Duke of Cambridge and Duke of Sussex had a great relationship growing up despite their rumored rift lately. However, prior to this, they had their first serious rift over a decade ago. Aside from that, there were tensions due to Prince Harry constantly teasing Prince William.
According to Katie Nicholl in her book “William and Harry,” at one point, the second in line to the throne got mad at his younger brother. Prince William tried everything he could to stay away from the spotlight and lived an ordinary life. However, he experienced the opposite when Prince Charles took him and Prince Harry to Canada.
“The young prince had been met by screaming teenage girls,” Nicholl wrote. The experience didn’t please Prince William at all and he felt worse when he saw Prince Harry’s reaction.
“While Harry had laughed at his brother’s newfound status as a royal heart-throb, William had flown into a rage and vowed never to go on a walkabout again,” the biographer added. “Of course, he was young and at a difficult age, but ‘Willsmania’, as it was referred to in the press, had terrified him.”
Growing up, Prince William was being groomed to be the next king. He and Prince Harry were aware of this. When they were still kids, Prince Harry once boasted to Prince William that it’s okay if he would not be king because it would mean that he could do anything he wanted.
Prince William and Prince Harry had their first serious rift when the latter was just 16. The Duke of Sussex felt that he was always blamed for everything while his older brother always “got away scot-free.”
Prince William felt guilty that he visited Prince Harry in Eton to end their rift. Prince Harry eventually forgave his older brother because he realized that it was not Prince William’s fault. But it took time since Prince Harry was reeling for a while.
At present, there are rumors that Prince William and Prince Harry are feuding. They were last seen together during the royals’ traditional Christmas morning service, but they looked distant and ill-at-ease at the time unlike their wives Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle who were all smiles and cordial to each other.
