They had to weather the storm of hurtful rumors claiming he cheated on her earlier this year, but an old photo of Kate Middleton and Prince William that has resurfaced seems to be putting fears the couple could ever split to rest.

An image of the couple a year after their marriage has resurfaced on the Instagram fan page Family of William and Catherine, showing them interact at the 2012 Audi Polo Challenge charity polo match near Ascot. In the image, which had never been seen before, the couple is seen as Middleton presents her husband with a prize, and their gaze at one another seems to say it all.

“Those eyes tell all. They don’t even have to say a word to each other as their eyes, communicate the intense love, adoration, affection, friendship, trust, respect, and loyalty they both share with each other,” one fan commented on the photo. “I wish that all could find such chemistry with their chosen partners. It is an amazing gift and a priceless Blessing.”

“I love seeing you two together! Such love! A true fairy tale!” another chimed in.

While the photo is now seven years old, seeing it resurface now may be reassuring to fans of the royal company, who were rocked by rumors of infidelity on Prince William’s part as stories circulated he cheated with Middleton’s friend, Rose Hanbury, while she was pregnant with their third child, Prince Louis.

The rumors were later proven to be false, but the couple still needed to address them within their marriage, and thankfully, they’ve used them to only make their relationship stronger.

“Kate found the rumors hurtful, obviously, and hates the thought that one day her children will be able to read about them online,” a Middleton family friend said back in June. “It forced her and William to sit back and examine their relationship, which they realized they should have been doing more often.”

“It's not unusual to have a few hiccups in a marriage, especially after eight years, and Kate and William are no different,” the source added. “They’re still going strong. Regardless of their ups and downs, they love each other dearly and their kids are the most important thing in their lives.”
