Prince William, Kate Middleton’s Kids George, Charlotte Homeschooled Amid Coronavirus Class Cancellations

Prince William and Kate Middleton will be homeschooling their two older children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte amid the recent class cancelations at Thomas’s Battersea.

On Friday, the school released a statement announcing the changes after an increasing number of students and staff have been absent amid the global health pandemic.

“From this date, the curriculum will be taught through online learning platforms and we have asked parents to keep their children at home and to access their lessons through this system. This will ensure that children have continuity of learning when they are unable to attend school,” the statement read.

The school also confirmed that they will remain physically open to teach students whose parents are frontline staff or are working in the medical field.

Since Prince George and Princess Charlotte’s parents are also on self-quarantine at Kensington Palace, they will be staying home for the next couple of days.

The current semester is scheduled to end on March 26 so it is possible that homeschooling setup will only last for a few days before the new semester begins. It is also possible for the new semester to begin with the royal siblings being homeschooled.

Last week, Thomas’s Battersea announced that their students were being tested for coronavirus.

“Like all schools, we are taking the potential risks connected with the spread of Covid-19 very seriously and to this end are following government guidance to the letter around both prevention against infection and in dealing with cases where any staff or pupils are suspected of being exposed to the virus or who display any symptoms,” they said.

The school also confirmed that students who have shown some symptoms have been required to stay home until after the results of their tests are released.

Prince George and Princess Charlotte were seen shopping with the Duchess of Cambridge days after the school made the announcement. An onlooker claimed that the royal siblings were so well-behaved.
