Prince William, Kate’s Photo Is This Royal Photographer’s Favorite For This Reason
Prince William and Kate Middleton’s photo from April is the favorite of a royal photographer.
Getty’s official photographer Chris Jackson compiled some of his best photos of the royal family in a new book called “Modern Monarchy: The British Royal Family Today.”
Insider asked Jackson to choose his most favorite snaps from 2018, and he said that he likes the pictures of the royal couple with their newborn son Prince Louis.
“This image really speaks for itself, the love between a mother and her son. As somebody with a child on the way, this image really stirs up a lot of emotions in me,” he said.
Jackson went on to say that every birth at Lindo Wing by a royal is an exciting time for everyone, especially the members of the royal family. The Getty photographer went on to talk about Middleton’s incredible outfits while she was pregnant with Prince Louis.
“It’s certainly been a fascinating year from a sartorial angle, and it’s always great to capture the different styles of all the royals and see the interest it generates around the world,” he said.
Overall, the photographer said that it was a good year for his job and the majority of the events in the royal family made the entire 2018 even more worth it.
“It’s a lot of work, but I’m so grateful to be in this position, capturing moments that the royal family and the wider world appreciate. I love what I do,” he said.
In October, Jackson talked about his favorite photo of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle during his interview with Marie Claire. Jackson has photographed the Duke of Sussex countless times even before he dated Markle. When he finally took pictures of the couple, he said that it was even better.
“I actually took my favorite photograph of the pair during a visit to Sussex – a lovely interaction as they held hands and burst into laughter during a visit to a youth project,” he said.
Jackson was referring to a photo taken at the Joff Youth Center in Peacehaven, Sussex on Oct.3.
