Prince William To Open Up About Princess Diana’s Death During Private Meeting
Prince William will revisit the heartbreak he felt following Princess Diana’s death when he meets with the son of Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha following the latter’s death.
Nicholas Frakes, a journalist for Express, revealed that Prince William will hold a private meeting with Top, the son of Leicester City’s chairman. After all, the Duke of Cambridge knows what it’s like to lose a parent. He was just 15 years old when Princess Diana was killed in a fatal car crash in Paris in 1997.
“Prince William wants to offer some word of comfort, man to man, and he knows how devastating it is to lost a parent in the cruelest way and amid the gaze of the world. He knew Vichai through their links and love of football and polo and he is a trained helicopter pilot too. He wants to pay his respects, firstly to Top and then to club players, officials, and volunteers who helped with the sea of tributes,” a source said.
The dad of three is also expected to tell Top how his father will be missed by the fans and everyone who was lucky enough to have known him. Before meeting the players and staff, Prince William and Kate Middleton already had the opportunity to visit the crash site.
Following Srivaddhanaprabha’s death, Prince William paid tribute to him by saying that he was a businessman of strong values, who has dedicated his life to his family and has supported a number of important charitable causes.
“He made such a big contribution to football, not least through Leicester City’s magical 2016 season that captured the imagination of the world. He will be missed by all the fans of the sport and everyone lucky enough to have known him,” he said.
In related news, Prince William made headlines this week after his nickname from their kids, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, was revealed. According to Cosmopolitan, the royal siblings call their dad Pops. Prince George and Princess Charlotte also call Queen Elizabeth “Gan-Gan.”
