Prince William And Prince Harry Reunite To Honor Princess Diana's Legacy
Prince William and Prince Harry have joined forces to honor the legacy of their late mother, Princess Diana. This comes amid rumors that their relationship has been strained for much of the last two years.
The siblings reunited Wednesday to pay tribute to the young people working hard in the name of the late Princess of Wales. As Prince William met with 10 British recipients of The Diana Award's Legacy Award at Kensington Palace, Prince Harry met with another set of winners from around the world in a virtual meeting held from his home in Montecito, California.
Among the winners who had the opportunity to speak with Prince Harry were Diana Chao, a woman from California who started Letters to Strangers, as well as Jahin Rahman, a teenager from New York who founded the nonprofit organization, Efforts in Youth Development of Bangladesh.
They and the British recipients met by Prince William are set to receive a distinct honor as they will be presented with their Diana Awards from Princess Diana's brother Charles, the 9th Earl Spencer, at the family's ancestral home in Althorp on Dec. 9.
The winners will also gain access to a unique two-year development program that aims to provide them with the opportunity to improve their skills in leadership, community development, social entrepreneurship and technology.
Taking place every two years, the Legacy Award is the most prestigious award a young person can receive for his social or humanitarian work in Britain. In 2017, both Prince William and Prince Harry were present when the first of such awards were presented at an event.
Meanwhile, yesterday's simultaneous meetings marked the second time Prince William and Prince Harry teamed up on behalf of their mother this year. Last July, on what would have been Princess Diana's 60th birthday, they also came together as they unveiled a statue erected in her memory at the Sunken Garden of Kensington Palace.
