Prince William Refused To ‘Break’ After Diana’s Death, Harry Close To ‘Complete Breakdown’
Prince William and Prince Harry have very different personalities. As such, it is only natural that the sudden death of their beloved mother, Princess Diana, also had very different impacts on them.
Two years ago, the Duke of Cambridge told ITV that it was clear to him that losing a loved one could either make or break a person. And at an early age, the dad of three made a pact that he wouldn’t let his mom’s passing break him.
“I wanted her to be proud of the person I would become. I didn’t want her worried or her legacy to be that William and/or Harry were completed and utterly devastated by it,” he said.
By the looks of it, Prince William didn’t intentionally try to shade his younger brother, Prince Harry, with his statement. But Kate Middleton’s husband has always been aware that his brother suffered differently after Princess Diana’s death.
While speaking with The Telegraph, Meghan Markle’s husband admitted that he almost reached a complete breakdown on numerous occasions simply because he never spoke about his feelings after his mom’s death. It was only when Prince Harry turned 28 that he decided to address his problems.
At that time, the Duke of Sussex was on the verge of punching someone, and he also suffered from anxiety during his royal engagements. These moments convinced him that it was time to seek help.
“I have probably been very close to a complete breakdown on numerous occasions when all sorts of grief and sort of lies and misconceptions and everything is coming to you from every angle,” Prince Harry.
And by the looks of it, the new dad didn’t intentionally want to disappoint Princess Diana with how he dealt with her passing. But it is important to note that Prince Harry was barely a teenager when his mom died.
Other than bottling up his emotions, Prince Harry also made friends with the wrong crowd. He admitted to trying cannabis, he wore a Nazi costume to a party, and he also got into an altercation with a photographer.
