Prince William shocked gala guests with his surprising suit sans wife Kate Middleton.

The Duke of Cambridge joined his cousin Princess Beatrice to mark the 50th anniversary of Centrepoint, a homeless charity for young people aged 16-25. The future king surprised many when he showed up at the Roundhouse in Camden without the Duchess of Cambridge wearing a green velvet jacket.

Prince William opted for the attire to keep with the “urban glamour” dress code. Meanwhile, the next royal bride looked stunning in a black dress with floral embellishments, Express first reported.

Prince William and Princess Beatrice mingled with the celebrities who also attended the gala including singer Rita Ora who complemented Prince William’s suit saying she “loved it.” They also rubbed elbows with “Strictly Come Dancing” presenter Claudia Winkleman and singer Ellie Goulding.

At the event, Prince William delivered a speech to congratulate the “brilliant staff” who volunteered for the charity.

“It is upsetting that in 2019 we still have not managed to end youth homelessness, and more young people are being supported by Centrepoint than ever before,” Prince William said.

“But it is reassuring to know that when young people are at their lowest point, Centrepoint's team are there to help. The brilliant staff and volunteers continue to do a wonderful job, ensuring that every young person gets the individual care and support that they need, whatever their situation.”

Although Middleton did not join her husband and Princess Beatrice at the event, she was spotted with the second-in-line to the throne on Tuesday. The couple visited the Troubadour White City Theatre in London.

During their visit, Middleton tripped as they walked back to their car and Prince William rushed to reach out to his wife as the latter recovered her balance. However, Middleton seemed to be not bothered at all as she giggled with Prince William after the incident.

On the same outing, many witnessed the rare sweet moment between the couple. They were seen touching each other’s arm as if they were assisting one another. Prince William was also seen placing a hand on his wife’s back.
