Prince William ‘Terrified’ Palace Staff, ‘Upset’ Princess Diana After Going Missing In Highgrove
Prince William was quite naughty as a kid. And during one of his trips to Highgrove, he reportedly got lost and upset Princess Diana.
In a previous report by Daily Mirror, it was revealed that Prince William went missing while he was playing in the royal family’s residence. The palace staff was so terrified and worried, and everyone panicked at the thought of the second in line to the throne suddenly disappearing without a trace.
After a few minutes of searching, the “scallywag” Duke of Cambridge was spotted happily drinking from a bottle of fizzy drink and it has also spilled all over his clothes.
Princess Diana was very upset over Prince William’s disappearance but she still had the presence of mind to read the ingredients listed on the bottle of cherry pop. Since then, fizzy drinks were banned from the royal household. But Princess Diana still took her sons to McDonald’s to get their Happy Meal toys.
Meanwhile, Princess Diana once again proved that even though she was a fun and cool mom, she could also be very strict and serious. When Prince William was 7 years old, she reprimanded him in public.
According to royal correspondent Ashely Walton, the Duke of Cambridge’s sports event already ended and he and Princess Diana were supposed to go home when the young royal suddenly ran away from his mom.
“Her temper snapped when he ran away as she was about to leave after the events had ended. The seven-year-old Prince set off across a field to play with his sirens from London’s Wetherby School… Diana - clearly angry – dashed 100 yards, caught him by the arm and gave him a firm smack on the bottom,” Walton said.
Prince William broke down in tears, and he continued to cry as he was getting into his family’s private vehicle. When they arrived in Kensington Palace, Princess Diana continued to reprimand her son.
