Prince William was previously praised for doing one thing that would’ve also made Princess Diana proud.

Years ago, the Duke of Cambridge decided to sleep outdoors at an event organized by Centrepoint. The objective of his sleeping outside was to help him understand what rough sleepers go through every single day.

In the book “William and Harry,” royal author Katie Nicholl said that it was amazing to know that the dad of three slept on the streets.

“It was quite extraordinary that he was able to do that,” she said.

Meanwhile, then-organization chief Seyi Obakin wrote on the Centrepoint website how the idea came to light. “He [Prince William] was determined to do it as the patron in order to raise awareness of the problem and to be able to understand a little better what rough sleepers go through night after night,” he said.

Obakin was the one who challenged Prince William to sleep on the streets for an entire night after the 40th-anniversary celebration of Centrepoint, and he was immediately on board with the idea. According to Nicholl, Princess Diana would’ve been proud of Prince William because he also has compassion towards the homeless.

“Diana was always passionate about her work with homeless people and William felt the same. William and Harry have had more choice than Diana in terms of choosing their patronages,” she said.

Meanwhile, the Duke of Cambridge also made headlines recently after the biggest misconception about him and his wife was revealed. During a 2013 interview, Nicholl told talk show host Katie Couric that Prince William and Middleton’s relationship didn’t start while they were studying at the University of St. Andrews.

The royal author said that Middleton and Prince William actually met before they entered the university. While the Duchess of Cambridge was still studying at Marlborough College, she already had the chance to meet her husband and brother-in-law, Prince Harry.

According to Nicholl, the couple’s early meeting changed everything for her.
