Prince William Was ‘Genuinely Worried’ About Kate Middleton After Major Secret Was Exposed

Although Prince William and Kate Middleton have been happily married for years, the Duke of Cambridge was reportedly left “furious” when he learned that the media found out about his relationship with Kate.

Kate and William began dating in 2003, however, the public did not become aware of the relationship until 2004. The romance was exposed when Kate was photographed with Prince William on a ski trip.

The Daily Mail’s royal editor Rebecca English claimed that the Duke was worried about how the public’s knowledge of their romance would change Kate’s life.

“In 2004, the relationship really did hit the public eye. Unfortunately for them, a paparazzi photographer took pictures of William and Kate clearly very close on the ski lift together,” she explained.

“A red top tabloid newspaper slashed it all over their front page. William was furious, and he was also genuinely worried for Kate and her family about what this would now mean for them.”

Despite a few ups and downs throughout the course of their relationship, Kate and Prince William married in 2011 and are now parents to Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.

Sources previously told The Sun that William has become close to Kate’s family, especially her mother, Carole Middleton. The 37-year-old has been reportedly leaning on Carole following Prince Harry’s move to the US.

“William’s in-laws have become like second parents, and Carole is almost a Diana-Type mum. Harry has missed out by not having that influence and someone he can turn to in this country and now seems dependent on Meghan,” the insider told the outlet.

“William has been leaning on Carole and Michael a lot during Megxit. Understandably, William and Kate have been very upset by what has happened,” the source added.

Due to the additional responsibilities Prince William has had to take on in Prince Harry’s absence, he has reportedly been confiding in Carole.

“Not only has William lost his brother as a working member of the family, but he and Kate now have a much greater burden. Being able to talk to Carole and share his feelings has been a great help,” the source said.
