Princes William, Harry, Kate, Meghan’s Christmas ‘Photographer’ Made This Much Money
Prince William, Kate Middleton, Prince Harry, and Meghan Markle attended their first Christmas church service last year.
The royal couples were photographed by Karen Anvil while they were walking outside of Sandringham and in front of the massive crowd. The 40-year-old mom was standing outside the grounds when Middleton and Prince Harry looked straight into her camera.
Following the release of the snap, Anvil said that her life has changed drastically. Anvil was working two jobs at that time, but she managed to take an entire year off after her photo raked in a huge sum of money. Anvil also managed to clear her debts and refurbish her home.
After uploading the photo of Prince William, Middleton, Prince Harry, and Markle on social media, Anvil received a call from a professional photographer that linked her up with his agent. By 5 p.m. on the same day, Anvil’s photo of the royal couples was sold to over 50 countries. It also appeared on multiple media outlets and on television, and she made over $50,000 for it.
Anvil said that she will return to Norfolk again this year to see if she could take another photo of the royal couples. But even if she didn’t, she will be there to await the arrival of the members of the royal family.
While speaking with BBC, Anvil said that following her photo’s success, she was able to head to Tesco and go shopping without worrying if she still had money in the bank.
And one of the first items that she bought was a bed for her home. She had been sleeping on a mattress for 18 months before she snapped the famous photo. Some of her money will also be used to help her daughter, Rachel, go to university. She also invested in her driving lessons and buying Rachel a car.
When Rachel turned 18 years old, Anvil also took her daughter to their first overseas trip to Paris.
“Mom knew this was a one-off and wanted to use every penny wisely. Every penny the photo has made has gone on our family and our home,” Rachel said.
