Princes William, Harry Would ‘Trade Everything’ To Have Princess Diana Back
It’s no secret that Prince William and Prince Harry were deeply affected by their mother’s death in 1997 and have been disheartened that she’s missed several big moments in their lives. Now, royal experts are claiming that the two would give up everything if it meant getting to have Princess Diana back.
Kate Williams, a historian who writes about the royal family, stated that the brothers’ decision to launch the “Heads Together” campaign, which encourages people to speak out about mental health issues, had direct relation to the fact that the two had suffered following Princess Diana’s death, and that they genuinely still want their mother.
“We heard the Royals talk about what they had suffered, they made it clear they can suffer a lot of mental pain,” she said. “When you say they want to nothing, we’re talking about materialism there. What they want it a mother and that’s something that was taken away.”
Meanwhile, royal expert Victoria Arbiter agreed with Williams’ assessment, saying that for everything they do have, Prince William and Prince Harry would do anything if it meant Princess Diana could be around.
“They would trade it all to have her back,” she said.
Of course, while both brothers suffered following their mother’s death and have moved on with their lives, Prince Harry, in particular, has been lauded for his decision to be open about getting help following Diana’s death when he was 12.
During an appearance on an episode of “Lorraine” in January, psychotherapist Bryony Gordon stated that Prince Harry’s happiness now with wife Meghan Markle was a “reward” for him because of his willingness to seek help when he needed it.
“He is a great advertisement for what happens if you face your mental health. If you face your problems actually only good things happen,” she said at the time. “If you face the bad things that have happened during your life, good things come from it. And if you ignore it, the opposite happens.”
