Princess Anne seemed to have a close relationship with her younger brother, Prince Andrew, years ago.

In an unearthed photo, Princess Royal is photographed playing with the Duke of York. The photo shows Princess Anne carrying and swinging her brother with the help of Queen Elizabeth II.

The snap shows Prince Andrew looking very pleased while flying above the grass. The young boy is wearing a red long-sleeved sweater and jeans. His mouth is also wide open in excitement.

Princess Anne and the Queen couldn’t help but laugh at the sight of the young royal. Both of them are grinning from ear to ear while staring at Prince Andrew.

The Queen is wearing a matching mint green coat and skirt, and her hair is also fixed neatly. Princess Anne, on the other hand, is wearing a long-sleeved yellow dress and her blonde hair is tied in a neat bun.

Royal fans who saw the photo called it a beautiful family picture. Another said that seeing the three together is so delightful.

Princess Anne was 10 years older than Prince Andrew. The latter was born shortly after Prince Philip returned to London from his overseas tour.

Before his birth, the royal couple waited for an entire decade to have another child. In the book “Elizabeth the Queen,” royal author Sally Bedell Smith revealed that real reason why the monarch and the Duke of Edinburgh waited so long to have more children.

She said that the Queen and Prince Philip couldn’t agree on what surname to give their kids that’s why they decided to put off having more children. When Her Majesty finally agreed to use her husband’s Mountbatten surname, that’s when the couple had Prince Andrew and Prince Edward.

When Prince Charles and Princess Anne were born, they used the surname Windsor from the Queen’s side of the family. Years later, the surname was changed to Mountbatten-Windsor.
