Princess Beatrice Wedding Will See Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi Ex In Attendance
She is marrying her fiance in a wedding that is expected to be much lower-key than other royal affairs next year, but that doesn’t mean things may not have some awkwardness when it comes to who actually made the invite list for Princess Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi’s wedding.
According to the Daily Mail, Mozzi’s former fiancé, Dara Huang, with whom he shares a son, Christopher Woolf, will be present at the couple’s wedding and she is reportedly taking etiquette lessons in order to make sure she doesn’t cause any offense to the royal family in the process.
“Her friend Myka Meier, who runs the New-York based business Beaumont Etiquette, visited London this week and showed Dara how to cross her legs in a lady-like, elegant fashion,” columnist Richard Eden revealed. “Dara practiced inclining her legs in what’s known as the ‘duchess slant,’ then confided in friends: ‘It really does look better.’”
Eden also reported that Meier is giving lessons to the former couple’s son as well.
However, while she may be making an effort to make sure she doesn’t steal the spotlight from the Princess on her wedding day, that doesn’t mean Beatrice feels someone else won’t try to upstage her. In fact, it’s been previously reported that she doesn’t want to invite her cousin, Prince Harry, and his wife, Meghan Markle, to the wedding, because she feels they upstaged her sister, Princess Eugenie, at her wedding in October 2018 by announcing the news they were expecting their first child together at the same time.
“Tension has been brewing between Harry and Meghan and the York girls for months now,” sources said. “Beatrice has confessed to friends that if she gets her way, they won’t be invited.”
However, while she is likely to keep family on the guest list, she also wouldn’t be the first member of the royal family to invite an ex to her wedding. As it turns out, Prince Harry invited both his significant exes, Cressida Bonas and Chelsy Davy, to his wedding. Both were present at the ceremony in St. George's Chapel, but neither was invited to the reception later that night.
