Princess Beatrice’s royal wedding could reportedly be postponed for the third time amid the coronavirus pandemic.
According to People, it is highly likely for her and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi’s nuptials to be postponed since it is scheduled for May 29. At present, the United Kingdom and other parts of the globe are battling with the deadly coronavirus.
In fact, Queen Elizabeth, Prince Charles, Camilla, Prince Harry, and Meghan Markle have also gone of self-quarantine at their respective homes to prevent the further spread of the virus.
Princess Beatrice and Mozzi got engaged last year and months later, it was announced that their wedding would take place in early spring. But in February, the couple confirmed that their wedding date has been pushed back.
According to sources, the decision to postpone the nuptials had to do with Prince Andrew’s sexual abuse scandal. Shortly after, The Sun claimed that the couple will tie the knot a little later in the year after all of the issues have been sorted out.
“The decision has been delayed repeatedly because of all the issues, but finally they have something that seems to work — and barring any problems that should be when it goes ahead,” a source said.
Meanwhile, it was previously reported that the Queen offered the Buckingham Palace as a reception venue for Princess Beatrice and Mozzi, and they accepted Her Majesty’s generosity. As of late, it is still unclear if the couple’s reception will still be held in the same venue if their wedding date will really be changed.
In related news, Mozzi also made headlines this week after he encouraged Britons to help the elderly amid the coronavirus pandemic. On his Twitter account, Princess Beatrice’s husband reposted a great idea.
“Would it be possible for the supermarkets to only allow elderly shoppers in first, so that they can shop before the rest of us, as the shops will be clean/disinfected, and before the shelves are all cleared? ” the tweet read.
