Princess Diana Desperate For Prince Charles Reconciliation But Camilla Parker-Bowles Did This
Princess Diana was desperate to make her marriage with Prince Charles work, but Camilla Parker Bowles didn’t give her the chance.
In the 2017 Amazon Prime documentary “Diana: The Woman Inside,” Ken Wharfe, former royal protection officer, revealed that Princess Diana would have welcomed a possible reconciliation with the Prince of Wales in the terminal stages of their marriage. Wharfe explained that the People’s Princess wanted their marriage to succeed for their two children, Prince William and Prince Harry.
“She desperately wanted to make it work,” the princess’ personal trainer Carolan Brown agreed.
Unfortunately, the Duchess of Cornwall didn’t give the couple a chance to fix their marriage. Camilla didn’t keep her distance from Prince Charles. She didn’t leave the future king alone to fix his marital issues with Princess Diana.
“Camilla never went away,” Wharfe explained.
Tom Bower claimed in his book “Rebel Prince: The Power, Passion and Defiance of Prince Charles” that the Queen was furious with Camilla for the same reason. She couldn’t forgive the Duchess of Cornwall for not giving the Prince and Princess of Wales the chance to save their marriage.
"She would not condone his adultery, nor forgive Camilla for not leaving Charles alone to allow his marriage to recover," Bower wrote.
Princess Diana’s friend Jenni Rivett also revealed that Princess Diana didn’t want to divorce Prince Charles in the first place. The split was not what the People’s Princess wanted.
According to Rivett, Princess Diana wanted to be the Princess of Wales. She wanted to be the Queen of people’s hearts. Her desire was to be a good mom and a good wife.
Rivett added that Princess Diana would have wanted to stay and make her marriage with Prince Charles work. Unfortunately, she didn’t have the chance to do so.
Princess Diana said in an interview that their marriage didn’t work because “there were three of us.” Many believe that the People’s Princess was implying about Prince Charles and Camilla’s affair.
Meanwhile, Robert Lacey blamed Prince Charles for his failed marriage. According to the royal expert, the future king was already emotionally committed to another woman — Camilla — when he married Princess Diana.
