Princess Diana did not have a chance with the royal family, according to netizens.

The Prince and Princess of Wales had a fairytale-like wedding. However, they had an unhappy marriage and their union ended in divorce.

One royal fan took to Quora and asked if Princess Diana ever had a chance with the royal family. A number of online users said, “no.”

“Princess Diana never did stand a chance,” Deanna Eppers, an ardent royal family follower commented.

According to her, Princess Diana already knew that Prince Charles loved Camilla Parker Bowles but she still continued with the wedding. She added that Prince Charles tried to remain faithful, but Princess Diana couldn’t hide her unhappiness prompting the heir apparent to seek his ex-girlfriend for comfort. To make matters worse, Princess Diana aired her dirty laundry in public.

“In all honesty, no. She was chosen for one purpose, because royal protocol demanded that the crown prince is to marry a virgin,” George Valencia wrote.

He added that Princess Diana was in love with the future king, but he didn’t feel the same. Also, their 12-year age difference only made it more difficult for them. Valencia was convinced that Prince Charles only married Princess Diana to provide him an heir and spare and to make the people believe that she was one of them.

“Personally I don’t think she did because she wasn’t honest. She pretended to have the same interests as Charles,” Emma Ramdenee added.

Ramdenee said that Prince Charles was concerned of their age difference but was thinking that they had some common interests. Princess Diana was aware of his friendship with Camilla but went on and married him. The future king had no idea that Princess Diana hated everything he was interested in.
