Princess Diana Held Prince Harry’s Hand, Left Prince William Descending Airstairs Alone

Princess Diana is a doting mom to Prince William and Prince Harry.

The late Princess of Wales was very hands-on when it came to her two sons. In fact, it came to a point when the Queen couldn’t understand why she had to do the nanny stuff for her two boys when they had a lot of helpers around.

Looking after two growing boys isn’t easy as there will be times when you have to prioritize one over the other. A video shared on Instagram featured Princess Diana, Prince William and Prince Harry descending a flight of airstairs.

The People’s Princess is seen walking ahead while holding little Prince Harry beside her. Prince William trails behind and descends the stairs on his own in the video.

Princess Diana might have prioritized Prince Harry because he was younger and couldn’t descend the stairs on his own compared to his older brother. Although Prince William was also too young at the time, he could already manage to do things on his own. Also, Princess Diana kept on looking at him behind her.

When they reached the ground, Princess Diana shook the hands of one of the officers waiting for them. She turned to Prince William and guided him to face the officer, so he could also shake his hand.

Prince William and Prince Harry shared a very close bond with their mom who wanted them to experience the usual things children their age enjoyed. She once canceled their lunch to take the boys to McDonald’s. Former Buckingham Palace chef Darren McGrady offered to make burgers for them. However, Princess Diana declined because she knew what her sons wanted from the fast food chain.

“She said, ‘No, it's the toy they want.’ Yeah, the boys loved McDonald’s, and going out [for] pizza and having potato skins —sort of the American foods. There were royal princes but had children’s palates,” the royal chef explained.

Although Princess Diana was a loving mom, she left Prince William “desperately upset” when she agreed to do her infamous “Panorama” interview. Netizens felt that the Duke of Cambridge’s reaction was normal for his age. Many believed that he felt bad because Princess Diana painted his dad in a bad light when she mentioned about his infidelity with Camilla Parker Bowles. She also admitted that she had an affair with James Hewitt during the interview.
