Princess Diana Not A ‘Talentless Air-Head’ But Wasn’t ‘Universally Adored’ Either, Netizen Says
Princess Diana passed away 22 years ago today. Following her death, tons of myths have surrounded the Princess of Wales.
On the online forum site Quora, some royal fans shared the biggest myths they know about the mom of two. Sallie Smythe, an avid reader of royal biographies, said that some of the biggest myths she has heard about Princess Diana had to do with the late royal being a talentless air-head who liked boy bands.
“While she was certainly not academically gifted, her siblings were, and they teased her mercilessly. They told her she was ‘thick’ throughout a very unhappy and unstable childhood. She was also aware that her very birth was a huge disappointment to her family,” she said.
Smythe went on to say that Princess Diana was also a gifted pianist, and she was also into ballet and theater. These things prove that the Princess of Wales is very talented.
Susanna Humphreys said that one of the biggest myths about Princess Diana was that she was universally adored and that the nation grieved for her. According to the royal fan, this wasn’t really the case because the mom of two was very manipulative. As such, she made the newspapers do exactly what she wanted them to do.
“When she died in a tragic accident the newspapers created the ridiculous weeping and wailing and heaps of flowers. Few knew her so how could they grieve other than for a woman who left 2 young sons motherless,” she said.
Humphreys also claimed that it’s a myth to say that Princess Diana was an excellent mother to Prince William and Prince Harry. Prior to the late royal’s divorce from Prince Charles, she left her sons so that she could spend time with James Hewitt. At that time, Prince William and Prince Harry were still very young.
Following Princess Diana and Prince Charles’ divorce, the former also spent time with her boyfriend, Dodi Al Fayed. The couple was together until the day of their death.
