Princess Diana Is Responsible For Meghan Markle And Prince Harry’s Rebellious Behavior

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have come under fire following their decision to withhold certain details about their personal lives from the public. However, it seems Princess Diana may be responsible for the couple’s royal rule-breaking.

Since Meghan and Harry became engaged, the two abandoned royal traditions and began making unprecedented decisions that have been criticized. While some disapprove of their deviant behavior, one royal expert believes Princess Diana’s death is causing the couple to rebel.

Diana died in 1997 from injuries she suffered in a car crash. Moments before her death, her driver was trying to outrun members of the paparazzi, who were following the princess.

During an appearance on talkRADIO, Richard Fitzwilliams revealed Diana’s death is still a sensitive subject for Harry, who has reservations toward the press. Since he began dating Meghan, the Duke of Sussex has made some unexpected decisions to protect the woman in his life.

“If we look back, and looking back quite a while at the whole period when they were going out together, with the engagement, there was, of course, Harry’s attack on the media,” he said.

“I think looking at it in the context of the time, I can’t speak precisely about what was happening abroad, but certainly the way journalists were behaving. But the fact of the matter was that it was unique,” the commentator continued.

Although Prince Harry and Meghan seem determined to forge a path of their own, Fitzwilliams claims Princess Diana’s tragic end could be influencing the couple’s decision to stray from tradition.

“There is no doubt, of course, that again, what happened to his mother haunts him, and is behind a lot. The actual sentiments expressed do appear to be reflected in the way they are currently behaving,” he explained.

In May, Meghan and Prince Harry were criticized for their decision to keep details about baby Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor’s birth from the public. Earlier this month, they received further backlash when they chose to hold a private christening for the newborn.

Although Harry and Meghan have become less popular with the press and public, the couple appears determined to continue making decisions that are best for their family.
