Princess Diana Would’ve Survived Car Crash If She Did This, Says Pathologist
Princess Diana wouldn’t have died following the car crash she was involved in if only she had her seatbelt on.
Dr. Richard Shepherd, a pathologist, told the Daily Mail that Princess Diana would’ve gotten out of the accident with only a black eye or a broken arm if she only wore her seatbelt.
“Instead, she was hurling forward with the weight of one and a half elephants, and the human body is not designed to suffer those forces. I wish I could say she would have died whatever happened, but the fact is, if she had worn her seatbelt she would have been here for Prince William and Harry’s weddings,” he said.
In related news, Princess Diana’s death has also been blamed on paparazzi that hounded her while she was in Paris with boyfriend Dodi Al Fayed. But Ken Wharfe, Princess Diana’s former bodyguard, said that the paparazzi couldn’t be blamed for the incident.
“Yes, some were pursuing Diana, but that wasn’t, in my view, ultimately the cause of that death. From my experience of working with Diana for nine years, every foreign holiday we went on, it wasn’t the odd paparazzi that would turn up we’re talking about 60 to 70 journalists. It’s in their interest to keep Diana alive and any member of the royal family. It’s their bread and butter,” he explained to "The Royal Box."
Last year, Prince William and Prince Harry opened up about their mom’s shocking demise on Aug. 31, 1997, during Princess Diana’s 20th death anniversary.
“I didn’t want her legacy to be that William and/or Harry was completely and utterly devastated by it and that all the hard work and all the love and the energy she put into us when we were young would go to waste,” Prince William said.
Prince Harry said that he found it disgusting how the paparazzi snapped photos of Princess Diana while she was struggling to survive in the vehicle. He said that people should’ve just his mom to the hospital immediately.
