Princess Diana ‘Wrote Royal History’ On Prince William’s Birth By Doing This
Princess Diana made royal history when she decided to give birth to Prince William in a hospital.
The late Princess of Wales was a rule breaker just like Meghan Markle. In Katie Nicholl’s 2011 book “The Making of a Royal Romance,” the author explained how Princess Diana’s decision to give birth in a hospital “wrote royal history.”
“Diana had written royal history when on Monday 21 June 1982, the summer solstice, Prince William Arthur Philip Louis of Wales was born in the private Lindo Wing of St Mary’s Hospital," Nicholl wrote.
According to the royal expert, the royals including Prince Charles were delivered at home. Queen Elizabeth II gave birth to the Prince of Wales in the Belgian Suite at Buckingham Palace. Unlike the monarch, Princess Diana opted to give birth at a modern hospital.
According to Nicholl, Princess Diana “endured a difficult pregnancy and terrible morning sickness.” For that reason, she decided to give birth at a medical facility.
Kate Middleton followed her late mother-in-law by delivering all of her three children — 5-year-old Prince George, 3-year-old Princess Charlotte and 7-month old Prince Louis — in the Lindo Wing at St. Mary’s Hospital. However, Meghan Markle may opt for the royal tradition of giving birth at home.
According to reports, Markle is considering a natural home birth. She reportedly prefers to deliver her firstborn in Frogmore mansion in Windsor.
Lorraine Kelly doesn’t support Markle’s decision. According to the TV presenter and the Sun journalist, Markle should rethink the idea. The Duchess of Sussex is already in her late thirties and is about to become a first-time mom. It will be safer for Prince Harry’s wife to deliver in a hospital as it is equipped with state-of-the-art technology, pain-killing drugs and medical experts.
There are rumors that Prince Harry and Markle are expecting twins. A number of netizens noticed that she has a very big baby bump for a single bundle of joy.
In addition, an insider claimed that the expectant mom referred to her baby bump as "them." Markle also reportedly hinted numerous times about her “double trouble.”
The odds of Prince Harry and Markle having twins suddenly rose from 8-1 to 4-1. Betting company Paddy Power decided to stop taking bets last month as they felt that punts know more than they do.
