Princess Diana’s Claims About Camilla Being Sole Reason For Failed Marriage Reportedly ‘False’

Princess Diana’s claim that Camilla Parker Bowles is the only person to be blamed for her failed marriage with Prince Charles is reportedly “false,” according to an author.

The Prince and Princess of Wales had a fairytale wedding. Unfortunately, their marriage was very different that it ended up in divorce.

Penny Junor wrote in her book, “The Duchess: Camilla Parker Bowles and the Love Affair That Rocked the Crown,” that Princess Diana made several claims against Camilla. Following Princess Diana and Prince Charles’ split, the former made a statement implying about Prince Charles and Camilla’s affair.

Prince William and Prince Harry’s mom claimed that their father was obsessed with Camilla. Prince Charles reportedly slept with Camilla the night before their wedding and continued their affair behind her back.

The People’s Princess reportedly also blamed Camilla for her failed marriage. Princess Diana said that her relationship with the future king didn’t work because “there were three of us in this marriage, so it was a bit crowded.“

Junor said that it was the “ultimate salvo” and was known as “The War of the Waleses.” Queen Elizabeth II reportedly had to intervene and advised Prince Charles and Princess Diana to “seek and early divorce.“

However, for Junor, Princess Diana’s statements against Camilla were baseless. “Yet whatever she might have said - and believed - Diana’s claims were false,” Junor wrote. “Camilla was not the sole reason the royal marriage fell apart, and she and Charles certainly did not sleep together the night before his wedding; there were many other factors that explain what went wrong.”

However, “there is no denying that the Prince did always love Camilla,” Junor continued.

The royal family was not happy about Princess Diana’s controversial interview. Queen Mother was “deeply shocked” and “detested” the Princess of Wales for opening up about her broken marriage to a biographer.

Prince William was reportedly also “mortified” when he learned about his mom’s controversial interview. The Duke of Cambridge couldn’t believe that Princess Diana could talk about Prince Charles’ affair with Camilla and her romance with James Hewitt in public.​
