Princess Diana’s Family Involved With Prince Harry, Meghan Markle’s Life, Baby Sussex
Princess Diana’s family has maintained a close relationship with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle especially in recent months and before their baby’s arrival.
According to Entertainment Tonight, even though Princess Diana has passed away years ago, her Spencer family made it a point to stay connected with her two sons, Prince William and Prince Harry.
The first instance that proved that the Spencers are still linked to the royals was when Prince Harry and Markle decided to invite Princess Diana’s relatives to their royal wedding on May 19, 2018.
All three of Princess Diana’s siblings, Lady Sarah McCorquodale, Lady Jane Fellowes, and Earl Charles Spencer were all present at St. George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle.
Prince Harry’s cousins, Lady Kitty Spencer, Eliza Spencer, and Louis Spencer were all there as well.
Fellowes, who is Prince William and Prince Harry’s aunt, was also tasked to give a reading at the ceremony. Prior to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s union, a statement was released detailing how grateful Prince Harry was to his aunt.
“Prince Harry and Ms. Markle both feel honored that Lady Jane will be representing her family and helping to celebrate the memory of the late Princess on the wedding day,” Kensington Palace said.
Months after their wedding, Prince Harry and Markle flew to Australia for their first overseas tour. While there, the “Suits” alum paid tribute to Princess Diana by wearing some of her jewelry.
And ahead of their baby’s arrival, Prince Harry and Markle are also thinking about possible godparents for their firstborn. There are speculations suggesting that some of their baby’s godparents will come from Princess Diana’s side of the family.
“It’s likely we’ll see close friends of Harry and Meghan, close friends of Diana and her family, and perhaps close friends of Prince Charles too,” royal expert Victoria Arbiter told Global News in February.
Arbiter also said that Prince Harry’s cousins from the Princess of Wales’ Spencer clan may also make the cut.
