Princess Diana's Interview About Princes William, Harry Revisited: Who Is More Independent?
Princess Diana previously opened up about her two sons, Prince William and Prince Harry.
The late Princess of Wales' interview in 1985 recently resurfaced, and in it Princess Diana talked about the Duke of Cambridge and Duke of Sussex. According to her, the two were very different from each other.
"[William] certainly does, he is a typical 3-year-old, because I've worked with 3-year-olds, and he is very enthusiastic about things. He pushes himself right into it," Princess Diana said (via Express) when asked if Prince William had a "will of his own."
"He is not at all shy and he is very polite, extraordinarily enough. William is a very independent child," Princess Diana continued.
Princess Diana said she believes that Prince William's independence could be due to his company. The second-in-line to the throne has always been surrounded by grownups.
On the other hand, Prince William's younger brother is not as outspoken as him. Prince Harry apparently just observed his surroundings. "Whereas perhaps Harry is quieter and he just watches, whether he copies William, he waits and sees," the People's Princess added. "He is certainly a different character altogether."
Although they are very different from each other, both princes are not fond of cameras. According to one of Princess Diana's former bodyguards, the princess told Prince William to behave when they were on their way to school on his first day of classes. She also reminded her son that it would be like that for the rest of his life.
"William turned around and said something which was extraordinary. He said, 'Don't like 'tographers,'" Ken Wharfe said.
Prince Harry apparently also hates cameras. "[Harry and Meghan Markle] were so lovely. They knew [Mckenzie] was scared of the cameras and they said they didn't like the cameras either so they turned around," Mckenzie Brackley's mom said of her first meeting with Prince Harry and his wife.
A photographer also observed how the Duke and Duchess of Sussex avoided them at the Sentabale Polo Cup in Windsor. "It was quite clear that they didn't want the press anywhere near them," a photographer said. "They were photographed on the red carpet and at the end of the match, but they wanted to be left alone the rest of the time even though this was a major charity event for Harry with a big international press presence."
