Royal fans were devastated following the announcement of Princess Diana’s death in 1997. However, in the book, “Diana: Case Solved,” Dylan Howard and Colin McLaren claim that Diana may have been intentionally killed because she was a threat to the monarchy.

Diana’s life came to an end after her driver, Henri Paul allegedly tried to outrun photographers in Paris and crashed the car.

Although Diana’s driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle, the book explores a conspiracy theory that a white Fiat Uno deliberately clipped Princess Diana’s car and caused the fatal crash.

“Nations, international conglomerates, and the British royal family all stood to benefit from her shutting up and going away forever—and such a thing can be accomplished a number of ways. Yet, foremost among them, and certainly foremost in effectiveness, would be snuffing out Diana’s life entirely,” the book claimed.

“Diana was a threat to the establishment for a host of reasons. For the royals, it was a reputation cost. Diana threatened to cheapen the monarchy; to blur the line between acceptable and unacceptable behavior for a member of the family.”

After Princess Diana revealed details about Prince Charles’ affair and their troubled marriage during an interview in 1995, royal insiders thought she could destroy the royal family.

“And most unnerving of all, she threatened to dispel the magic that made outsiders feel as though the royals were exceptional and special,” the authors explained.

“If that were to occur, many in the public might start asking questions about why the royals are followed, tolerated, and subsidized in the first place. Everything the family had built could all come crashing down.”

Since the paparazzi wasn’t close enough to witness Diana’s vehicle crash, there have been theories about how and why she died.

Despite the conspiracy theories, after an 18-month investigation into the crash, French authorities concluded Paul was intoxicated when he lost control of the vehicle and was responsible for the crash.
