Princess Eugenie’s Fiancé Jack Brooksbank Won’t Wear Wedding Ring Unlike Prince Harry
Princess Eugenie’s fiancé, Jack Brooksbank, won’t follow in Prince Harry’s footsteps of wearing a wedding ring after their wedding on Friday, Oct. 12.
Matt Drake, a journalist for Express, revealed that Princess Eugenie won’t also promise to obey Brooksbank in her vows just like Meghan Markle. Buckingham Palace released a statement regarding the order of service on Thursday.
“Princess Eugenie and Mr. Brooksbank have taken great care and interest in bringing together the content of their service, working closely with the Dean of Windsor and all the others involved. The couple is looking forward to sharing their marriage ceremony with their family, friends, and all those who have come to celebrate with them,” the statement read.
Earlier this year, Igal Dahan, a jeweler, told Esquire that Prince Harry’s decision to wear his wedding ring has to do with his preference and not any royal tradition.
“If Prince Harry were to wear a wedding ring, it wouldn’t surprise me. The significance of him wearing one would be beyond a statement. It would send a message and prove once again that this prince doesn’t follow the rules,” Dahan said.
Prince Charles has been spotted with his wedding rings from his marriages to Princess Diana and Camilla Parker Bowles. However, Prince Philip and Prince William opted to not wear the accessory after they tied the knot with Queen Elizabeth II and Kate Middleton, respectively.
Princess Eugenie and Brooksbank will tie the knot at St. George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle on Friday, and their ceremony will commence at 11 a.m. The couple’s family and friends are expected to arrive at the venue an hour ahead of the ceremony.
Following their union, Princess Eugenie and Brooksbank will hold a carriage procession around Windsor just like Prince Harry and Markle. However, the route of their procession is expected to be much shorter.
A lunch and evening reception will follow after the procession. And a third reception is also scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 13.
