Princess Eugenie’s Role As Royal Will Change This Way After Her Wedding
Princess Eugenie may not be a working royal, but her role will still change after she weds Jack Brooksbank on Oct. 12.
Grant Harrold, a former royal butler, told Express, that it is Princess Eugenie’s responsibility to balance her personal life with her royal life. As a member of the royal family, she is expected to attend events and occasions supporting Queen Elizabeth II and the other members of the royal family with Brooksbank by her side.
“Once she is married, I believe she will attend the same amount of events as she did before, with the only difference being she will on occasions be accompanied by her husband as support,” he said.
Last week, Harrold also talked about the possibility of Brooksbank receiving a royal title from the Queen. He said that this hasn’t been a normal practice so he will still be referred to as Mr. Brooksbank.
“Not all members of the royal family are given further titles. In fact, it has become royal practice for royals not to be given titles. An example would be HRH Princess Anne’s husband not getting a title. Princess Anne’s children, Peter and Zara, do not have royal titles either as they are not male-line grandchildren of the monarch,” he explained.
“Royal titles are normally reserved for more senior royals or those in direct line of male succession as we have seen with the Duke of Cambridge’s wife and children,” Harrold added.
In related news, Princess Eugenie and Brooksbank will tie the knot at St. George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle. Their special day will be attended by the members of the royal family, their closest family and friends, and 1,200 members of the public.
The royal couple’s nuptials will feature a carriage procession around the grounds of Windsor just like Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s big day. Their reception will follow at Prince Andrew’s home, the Royal Lodge, and it will be paid for by Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson.
Details about Princess Eugenie’s entourage and wedding dress designer are still being kept under wraps. What is only known is that Princess Beatrice will serve as her maid of honor.
