Princess Victoria gave birth to a baby girl at the Karolinska hospital in Stockholm during the wee hours Thursday, the Royal Court of Sweden announced.
The Office of the Marshal of the Realm is delighted to announce that H.R.H Crown Princess Victoria gave birth to a daughter on Thursday, February 23, 2012 at 04.26 am, it posted on its official Web site.
Both mother and child are in good health, it added.
Prince Daniel held a press conference at the hospital to announce the birth of his daughter.
This morning at 4:26 am, a 51-centimetre long and 3.280 kilogram very sweet little princess was born, the prince, who married Princess Victoria on June 19, 2010, said.
My feelings are all over the place right now, he said.
Princess Victoria (34), the eldest child of King Carl XVI Gustaf, is the heiress-apparent to the throne of Sweden. Her yet-to-be-named daughter has become second in line to throne.
