Two women from Norfolk, Virginia, were arrested after they had sex with a dog while video chatting with an inmate in jail.

According to the court documents released Friday, Jermaine Gaye, 34, was taken into custody in January in a hit-and-run case in which two people were injured. While being held in the Norfolk Jail, the accused communicated with two women over the phone and asked them to threaten the witness in the hit-and-run case.

Accordingly, Denise Kearney and Ashley Pinkett called up the witness several times and tried to convince her “to either change her story or not come to court.” They also allegedly went to the witness’ home.

Gaye then encouraged the two women to have sex with his dog. The sexual acts occurred several times in March and April. In one of the calls, Pinkett also mentioned photographing the act.

Gaye was moved to the Virginia Beach Jail around the same time after he allegedly tried to establish an “improper relationship with a jail employee.” On two occasions in April, Pinkett had sex with the dog while Gaye encouraged her to do so over video chat. In the video call, Gaye appeared to have draped a white towel over the back of his head.

Gaye continued to remain in jail with an additional charge of cruelty to animals. Pinkett and Kearney were also taken into custody and held without bond. While Pinkett was facing 20 charges including bestiality, Kearney was facing seven charges.

In a statement Friday, the Virginia Beach Jail authorities said they were cooperating fully with the investigation.

“It is our policy to fully prosecute any criminal activity that occurs within our facility, to include any criminal conduct that may be captured as part of an inmate’s visitation. All inmates and their visitors are warned that visits are monitored and recorded,” the statement said, Fox 40 reported.
