An advocacy group called “Building Back Together” made a TikTok account with the goal of sharing the values of the current leadership in the White House and Congress to a younger audience.

The account posted its first video to TikTok on Wednesday which explained some of the achievements that President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris have so far accomplished. The group hopes that sharing the information through the app will get through to “Gen-Z.”

“By building winning coalitions, Building Back Together advances the policy agenda of the Biden-Harris Administration and effectively communicates the positive impacts of these critical policies to the American people,” the Building Back Together website said.

Using TikTok is a way to directly reach Gen-Z about a topic that some younger people may not have as much access to information about. The Building Back Together group plans to do this through TikTok trends and features.

"Our TikTok videos will utilize features unique to the platform — whether that's taking advantage of trending sounds/ dances or using options like the green screen feature to do informational videos about different aspects of the President's agenda," a Building Back Together spokesperson told The Verge.

"By launching a TikTok account, we're building off that work with the goal of reaching the large and growing user base of this platform, including young people who disproportionately use TikTok," the spokesperson added.

The group overall wants to be a source that can be informative to people about what the Biden-Harris Administration is striving for ahead of the 2022 midterm elections.

“We’ll partner with organizations to achieve policy successes and work together to communicate with the American people about how the Biden-Harris Administration’s agenda is improving lives in communities across the country," the Building Back Together website said.
