Professor Hulk Should Be A Guru To Young Superheroes, Mark Ruffalo Says
With the introduction of Professor Hulk in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), the days of the Green Guy smashing things are over. Mark Ruffalo, who plays the character, has an idea about what his character’s role should be in the upcoming movies, and Kevin Feige likes it.
During a recent interview, Ruffalo teased that the fans will get to see “probably more” of his character in the upcoming movies, Comic Book reported. The actor didn’t reveal what’s exactly in store for the Hulk after his transformation, but he did talk about what he would like to see personally.
“ I'd like to see him hang out with some of the new folks, you know?” Ruffalo said. “Maybe be like a guru to some of the younger ones.”
Feige, who is Marvel’s chief creative officer, agreed with Ruffalo about the future of Hulk and said that it was a “good idea.” With multiple new movies the studio has planned, it remains to be seen when the Green Guy will return and what role he will play.
The one movie where Ruffalo is expected to be a part of is Marvel’s “She-Hulk,” which has been confirmed. Since Hulk is also close to many of the other superheroes, he may be a part of some of the other movies as well.
Meanwhile, Ruffalo recently celebrated the second anniversary of the film “Thor: Ragnork” with cast member Chris Hemsworth and director Taika Waititi. Ruffalo was there with his friends at the Hollywood Film Awards.
Ruffalo gave the Hollywood blockbuster award to Feige and Victoria Alonso at the Hollywood Film Awards event on Sunday. During his speech, the actor explained how people have embraced the superhero movies because at the heart of these movies is the humanity of all the characters, ET Online reported.
The Hulk actor’s speech was in response to Martin Scorsese’s comments about superhero movies. The veteran filmmaker had referred to superhero movies as “not cinema,” and onscreen “theme parks.”
