Whitney Wolfe Herd
Founder and CEO of Bumble
Whitney Wolfe Herd is the founder and CEO of Bumble and former vice president and co-founder of Tinder. She co-founded the social online application with Audrey Andreev, the founder of Badoo, another dating-focused app.
Bumble’s mission is to take the dating experience to a whole new level – one that empowers women, as it lets them make the first move. Following its success, it launched Bumble BFF in 2016, an app for finding friends, and Bumble Bizz in 2017, a tool for professional networking.
Herd’s entrepreneurial prowess has earned her several awards, honors and achievements. She was named Business Insider’s 30 Most Important Women Under 30 in Tech in 2014, recognized on Elle’s Women in Tech in 2016, featured on TechCrunch’s 42 Women Succeeding in Tech and named in the TIME 100 list in 2018. Forbes included her in its 30 Under 30 in 2017 and 2018 and named her the “$1-billion Queen Bee of dating apps.” She has also been featured on the covers of Fast Company, Forbes and Wired UK.
Her desire to connect people from different walks of life doesn’t stop with the company, as she is also funding Bumble’s U.K.-based gay dating app Chappy
