Prop 8 Decision: Hollywood Responds on Twitter
Olivia Wilde, Judd Apatow and Jesse Tyler Ferguson were just a few of the big stars taking to Twitter on Tuesday to praise a court decision finding California's same-sex marriage ban unconstitutional.
The responses ranged from the philosophical to the hilarious to expressions of joy.
Prop 8, sashay away, Ru Paul tweeted.
Not many bold faced names expressed any outrage, which is not that surprising as Hollywood is a liberal town, after all. That was left to folks on the other end of the political aisle, such as presidential hopeful Newt Gingrich who took to Twitter to decry the decision.
It was not just tinseltown's elite who were weighing in on the historic ruling.
Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, Huffington Post political reporter Sam Stein, and Nation editor Richard Kim were among the prominent figures who took to the social media platform in the wake of the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals decision to uphold a lower court ruling.
Here's a look at some of the best responses to the news.
