PS Plus: Free Games For June 2020 Finally Confirmed
It’s official: “Call of Duty: WW2” and “Star Wars Battlefront 2” will be the free PlayStation Plus games for June 2020.
It has been a rumored-filled week for PlayStation fans after Sony made some blunder in announcing its free game lineup for the upcoming month.
First off, the Japanese tech giant made a separate announcement about “Call of Duty: WW2” coming to PS Plus. Sony revealed on Monday that the game is included in its monthly lineup for June and would be available for download the following day.
According to reports, Sony decided to reveal the game earlier as part of the celebration of Memorial Day.
However, perhaps much to Sony’s dismay, its second game has been leaked even before it made an official announcement. On Tuesday, an ad showing “Star Wars Battlefront 2” as the other PS Plus free game surfaced on Instagram.
This came after speculations arise that the second PS Plus game would be “Spider-Man” after the UK PlayStation Store showed as such.
Now, Sony put an end to all the rumors and speculations with an official announcement on Twitter.
While the two games are not without controversies and criticisms, the said PS Plus offerings are good news to fans who were left disappointed by the free titles this May.
Both “Call of Duty: WW2” and “Star Wars Battlefront 2” are major titles, and they have both built a loyal following of their own. Additionally, the 2017 “Call of Duty” installment has also been widely praised for its gameplay, story and music.
For what it’s worth, Sony offered “Cities: Skylines” and “Farm Simulator” as free games for May. While the two titles are decent, they do not have the same general appeal as the more popular and mainstream games currently available.
Of course, Sony received some backlash with the said offer, especially considering the $59.99per year subscription fee (or $9.99 per month). However, it sure looks like they are making up with it with two big titles coming right up.
As mentioned, “Call of Duty: WW2” is already available for download, while “Star Wars Battlefront 2” will go live on June 2.
